Gas Gun Group
Alright guys.. dishing out the idea of starting up an all gas gun "association" or group. Nothing on the serious side to include any kind of ranking system or some form of authoritative figures, but at the same time, set it up to follow some form of uniform guidelines to keep it tight knit.
I'd like it to speak loud of honor and personalization when people see us or hear about us. I also don't want it to interfere with anyone's particular "team" or "club" in order to avoid anyone to feel tied or bound specifically to it.
So, here are my ideas so far:
A: Gas blow backs only for primaries and secondaries.
B: Milsim loadouts (e.g.: Plate carriers, harnesses, alice rigs, helmets, and pouches to correlate with the user's gear)
C: Multiple camouflage uniforms (Marpats, Woodlands, and Flat Colors - Does NOT have to reflect on vests or pouches)
D: Highly honorable when playing (Calling hits, good sportsmanship, and a good attitude)
When joining I will personally supply everyone with a nametape with the group name (primary camo of choice) and a logo patch that will signify the organization (Decided by the members). It will not cut in to anyone already associated with a team. I'm hoping it will portray a highly organized and honorable milsim team that is truly serious about the training, sport, and mindset.
So, if any of you are interested and meet the specifications then let's get it rolling out!

Re: Gas Gun Group
The name isn't Gas Gun Group lol. A name still needs to be decided on.
And yes, Allout - that is one of the goals and intentions of it.

Re: Gas Gun Group
What if a person uses multiple loadouts and one of them is all gas? (primary and secondary?)

Re: Gas Gun Group
Absolutely, Frog. Multiple loadouts are highly welcomed. We want to be able to present everyone who have taken the time to spend time, money, and care in their gear. Everyone should look like a complete badass when we roll up lol.
Howie, I'll gladly take a ride with you, sir!!

Re: Gas Gun Group
I think Frog's question (and definitely mine) is do we have to forgo our non-GBB loadouts? While I consider my WE-SCAR to be my primary weapon, its not a weapon for all seasons and I also field a fine collection of mostly custom AEGs (Thompson, Greasegun, P90s) with more in the works. I truly believe that GBBs represent the pinnacle of realistic MILSIM, but I'm not ready to get exclusive. I won't have to turn in my patch will I?

Re: Gas Gun Group
Absolutely not. As long as everyone has that mindset where they consider their GBB as a primary, it works well. I, personally, don't mind running an AEG for those "oh crap what's wrong with my GBBR" days lol (luckily I haven't had one). As long as everyone has that mindset of milsim and not spray and pray (unless, of course, you're running support such as an RPK or SAW) then that's the most important part.
Basically, just look at it as this: If you own a GBB then that's requirements met. And cold days present another issue for GBBR users.. So I totally understand.

Re: Gas Gun Group
Here are a few group name ideas that have been brought to the table:
Tactical Gas Monkeys
Milsim Gas Monkeys
Major League Milsim
Mission: Milsim
Feel free for any of you to throw your own ideas out there. And we'll all decide on a final once we get a hefty list of choices going.
Patch ideas will follow once a name is chosen. The patch will either be purchased online through the reflection of the name, or I can have a custom patch drawn up and embroidered.

It does, hmmm, good thing I kept the co2 magazines, just kidding, but for real through. I think when the mule is complete that will be another rule, the saw are to remain stationary.

I don't mind suppressive fire as long as the guy isn't just running around holding the trigger lol. I prefer to have any suppressive situation kept stationary.

So here's a test graphic for the patch. I'm thinking about going with a dye cut style rather than a basic squared off and flat embroidered detail.
Thumbs up or thumbs down?

Re: Gas Gun Group
Yeah maybe on the second one, will be just a two seater dune buggy with my mini cannon bolted to the top but just a thought, the mule is just going to have a few saws to send bb down range fast, to give the driver and other passenger time to dismount and grab their GBBRs

If anyone is still interested in this I would like to try and get a name together before AOW so I can order everyone's name tape to sport it at the event.
