Here's a random Q I've had for a while:
What animals have you seen on your property? Have you ever had a bear come out of the woods while you were playing? What would you do?

Wildlife Empty Bear encounters

Post by 4-27FA 14th June 2010, 12:15 pm

Dogs, cats, coons, squirrels...etc:

I would definitely require the BANG rule or a CQB encounter should cover it. However it is likely that these walk-ons are NOT carrying a dead rag (of course a possum will immediately fall over and require a medic playing dead anyway). I suggest sending them back to the spawn point immediately and possibly "re-enforcing' it with a well placed .20 BB. **Make sure they bring their OWN WATER as the raccoons have been known to steal anything not tied down....this has made them banned at most fields**

Bears: (hmmmmm....)

Not knowing how he was equipped (other than close combat) Well...I would hope at that point I was on sniper/recon duty or at least capable of outrunning the fire-teams Smile

That's the reason why I asked lol. I'm afraid I might get mauled by a coon while I'm camping it up in the hills Suspect

Remember that when dealing with bears you do not have to out run the bear; just the person next you.

Ive all but ran over Turkeys, Snakes, and squirrels on my Mountain bike and I once heard a black bear pretty close by me on a rarely used trail. I also had some deer cut me off on a trail at oak mountain and run in front of me 5 feet away. But in my yard only snakes and squirrels.
