Mortar launcher
Okay guys,
Since I been having some time to myself, I have been designing an mortar launcher using an M203 along with PVC piping and Angle iron. So still looking around the Engine room for gears to use to increase and decrease the angle of the launcher. Once it is made it should be an nice addition to the Dirt base or our village at Wilcox., For anybody to use, just need to bring 40mm grenades with you, Who know's I might make them and turn around and sell them at cost.
More to follow

Re: Mortar launcher
ummmm..my mortar was more than 2 years old....the folks over in HK,UK and japan have been making drop fired 40mm round mortars for years....the key thing is just getting the round out quickly once it's fired.

Re: Mortar launcher
Yes, Well thank you JAG ,
my Thoughts were using an M203, due to being able to eject the Round quickly, and not having to fight with getting 40mm grenade out of a tube, Hiit the side release grenade falls out, new one goes in and your ready to fire, I just been going through the scrap bucket of metal and found one gear, guess I can't bring the Rain gear ( Remove able flywheel teeth section) home due to size and weight, but still looking.

my sugestion would be to build it as a 60mm...the 40mm launcher will fit into the design better than something larger like an 81mm.....
in basic terms, the t&e,the training and elevation set up,is usually a piece of threaded rod that the tube mounts to which is turned to move the tube left or right of center.this is mounted on top of a vertical treaded rod that is turned to elevate or depress the tube....the bipod legs are usually mounted to this part....
