Tensions rise at the DMZ between North Korea and South Korea through out last 57 years, involving Nuclear threats, Sinking of an South Korea Naval ship, dozens of incursions across the DMZ. As the United nations has kept sanctions in place along with adding new sanctions that has not curved North Korea behavior toward South Korea.
This is the Korean peninsula's Demilitarized Zone, a 2.5-mile-wide buffer between Korea's two opposing armies. It's the world's most heavily fortified border, which was created as part of the Korean war armistice of 1953. It's a potential flashpoint of military confrontation, secret trails , propaganda one-upmanship, tourist buses, and – when both sides are willing to talk – of negotiations near truce Village.
Some of the Clashes from the past, While the DMZ sits at the eye of the storm in the conflict between North and South Korea, it has also incited violence between the United States and North Korea. Ten years after the DMZ was created, North Korean ground gunners forced a U.S. helicopter from the sky when it crossed into North Korean territory. North Korean officials held the two pilots for a year until the United States admitted it had violated the 1953 agreement by crossing the line. Another U.S. Helicopter was shot down in 1969, but the crew was released after 109 days in North Korean custody after the United States again confessed to violating the truce.
One of the zone's most violent clashes came in 1976, when North Korean troops bludgeoned to death two U.S. military officers who had been trimming branches from a tree in the DMZ to improve their view of the North. Five South Koreans and four other U.S. servicemen were killed in the skirmish. According to U.S. accounts, North Korean soldiers initially agreed to the tree pruning but grew violent as the work went on and attacked. The North Koreans said U.S. troops had attacked their soldiers, sparking the battle.
However, all conflicts in the DMZ have occurred above ground. Trails through the DMZ have caused repeated diplomatic flares between the two countries. A South Korean patrol group spotted the first of four confirmed trails from North Korea in 1974.

In 1978, U.N. Command troops discovered a trail that North Korea had cross the border and into South Korean territory near Panmunjom. The trail started at the back slope of a hill on the North Korean side of the DMZ and stretched some 246 feet above the surface for nearly a mile, according to a U.S. News and World Report story. The trail, discovered by a South Korean counter-trail operation after border guards detected landmines, was the deepest and largest of those discovered.

Along with the nuclear Tension of North Korea, In October 2002, North Korean officials acknowledged the existence of a clandestine program to enrich uranium for nuclear weapons that is in violation of the Agreed Framework and other agreements. On October 9, 2006, North Korea announced it had conducted a nuclear test. The USGS reported a magnitude of 4.2 on the Richter Scale with a location at 41.29N 129.09E +/- 8.1 km. Initial speculations about the yield ranged from less than 1 kt up to 15 kt. On October 16, 2006, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence announced that analysis of air-samples conducted on October 11 had confirmed that the event had been an underground nuclear explosion near P'unggye on October 9, 2006. DNI concluded that the "explosion yield was less than a kiloton."

The heightened security at the DMZ is prompted by North Korea's statements today. North Korea has declared "null and void" all agreements reached between North and South Korea to insure against escalation of hostilities here along the 150-mile long DMZ and in the disputed waters of the West or Yellow Sea. So causing an intense battle at the DMZ to start all over again.

PICK YOUR SIDE TO DEFEND! THE OUTCOME OF THIS EVENT.
