Upgrading a JG M4 S-System
Anyone ever upgraded a JG M4 S-System? I am looking to put a tight bore barrel but am not sure what barrel to get. I am looking for accuracy with tight groupings. How much would a new hop up play in this role. I am not looking to put an extreme amount into this gun since it is a JG but would like to increase the performance a little.

TO MEASURE THE INNER BARREL TAKE IT OUT OF THE GUN MEASURE IT AND JUST CONVERT THE MEASUREMENT TO MM. IF U MEASURE IT IN INCHES.

if u have a one piece hop up which most likely u do, that will definitely fit.

Re: Upgrading a JG M4 S-System
before you buy a whole new hop up you might want to try that Madbull barrel he recommended and a systema bucking and a scs/psc concave spacer/nub combo (you can get all 3 at airsoft gi)..most hop ups work fine, its the bucking, nub, and barrel that can use some tweaking. I just installed the bucking and spacer on my G&G M4 stock barrel and when we played at the hotel I could tell immediately I was shooting straighter and longer than previously, and the most important part was I wasn't getting those left/right random "flyers"... I was using .25's that day and shooting as far as I could see across that hotel from the second floor down into the main staging area in the back where you blue guys were spawning near that stairwell and I saw alot of guns over your heads afterwards All 3 are simple to change out, just field strip the barrel out, have some silicone lube handy and you can get it done in about 30 mins tops.

i think most jg use to come with a 2 piece hop up if so you can break off the piece that the bottom of the hop up screws to and put in a 1 piece

Okay-when I took the barrel out it didn't look like the picture at airsoft gi so I wasn't sure what I was looking at.

Does it look like that? Can you take a pic? I still don't see why you would have to swap the whole unit out versus just trying a spacer and bucking first with a new barrel.

Re: Upgrading a JG M4 S-System
Sorry I took so long to reply--I lost track of this thread. The hop up is two piece for sure and I can't take a picture of it without a lengthy process. I think I am going to order the barrel that CDR recommended and a bucking to go with it. My only concern is that the JG m4 enhanced already has a 6.04 barrel so will I really see a difference with a 6.03?

Re: Upgrading a JG M4 S-System
If you consider the size of the barrel no probably not much difference, but the quality..yes, I have seen some stock barrels that since they were made of brass had corrosion inside, not very smooth, etc, and just moving to a quality steel barrel made a difference, I would judge it on the craftsmanship of your stock barrel in terms of it being worth it. My stock barrel's hop up cut out window was mis'shaped and as a consequence my accuracy was not that great, new barrel, shooting way more consistent.

Some Pistols are easier then others, Some you may have to just paint black, Right now until the end of the month KWA is giving an free Magazine for purchase of an side arm.

What would happen if I threw a 6.01mm tight bore in it?

barel drag would be really bad but it would be on target and barel drag will lower the fps some times by a good bit

Re: Upgrading a JG M4 S-System
I put a 6.01 in my old m4 and it gained fps and the groupings were greatly improved, it was a stainless prometheus barrel so i cant vouch for other 6.01 barrels. It was a G&G blowback and they come with a 6.04 barrel not stainless and it was an upgrade that was worth it i put a madbull bucking in with it if that helps. I would go with a 6.03 stainless steel for an decent upgrade from stock or jus leave it alone and buy a pistol haha

Re: Upgrading a JG M4 S-System
Installed new barrel and it shoots like a dream-the bucking didn't fit and gave us some problems so we left the old one in. The gun is definetly more accurate and puts rounds down range in tight little groups. New range is easily 150 feet if not more. All in all a good upgrade and I am happy about it.
