We have about three snipers on FOXHOUND as well as possible spotters. Any limit to guys who can go as far as being from a specific team?

Any question regarding this event, please PM Steelwill or Allout, as I will be out country during this event

ok this is a 2 man event and must be a 2 man event. if there are 10 people from one specific group that want to play in this then that is 5 teams for the sniper comp.

I'm going to need a spotter. I've got a bolt action Dragunov I'm working on at the moment. You said there was no FPS Limit right? so 700-750fps is ok? right?

just a thought, but why not just have the sniper rifles at the FPS level of the field. that way a person who is pretty good with their field-craft and their 450-500 fps vsr 10 won't be going and getting out shot simply because someone is fielding a gun running 700+ fps that isn't usable in any actual game situation just about anywhere in the country.....if everyone is running about the same fps level ,then it's a truer test of someone's sniping and field-craft skills...... :D ...kinda like NASCAR......lol..

well even is you have a gun that is shooting very high fps that doesnt mean it going to be accurate. i have seen guns shooting under 300fps hit someone over 200 ft away. and that goes the other way i have seen guns close to 500fps not hit some one under 100ft.

Its cool man I have time to test so I will test and test until I hit my mark=) 300fps-1200fps it doesn't matter about fps. The gun build is what matters and once again test test and test makes perfect.

If you want to play that game, I can modify a handful of BBs to fit into .223 shells. There definitely should be an FPS cap, I agree with Savoy6. I'd advise modifying to normal field FPS limits, 550/.2g max for bolt action.

I'm down with that. I don't really care what the cap is I just want to have some fun

Give it time guys Imagine they have more details to work out. We still have three months, to tune up your Sniper rifles, I would just plan for the Max Field limit with Sniper/DMR rifle with either of these two options.

Designated Marksman Rifles (DMR):
The Maximum velocity for DMRs is 500 fps. The minimum engagement distance will be
100 feet. DMRs cannot simply be a standard AEG rifle that fires at 500fps.
They must be ACCURATE replicas of real steel marksman rifles. Replicas
considered DMRs must be semi-auto capable only and must be approved by
the Admin before use. DMR weapons will not be used in close proximity period.

Sniper rifles:
The Maximum FPS limit for sniper rifles is 550fps.The minimum
engagement distance will be 125 feet. Sniper rifles will be limited to outdoor
use only. Snipers should carry a secondary weapon for engagements within 100
feet. Replicas considered sniper rifles must be bolt action only. Any other Replicas
must be approved by Admin. Sniper weapons will not be used in close proximity period.

I'd like to volunteer for a spotter DM position. i'll spot for anyone.

To clarify, I have not picked a spotter yet. I realized the phrasing may be somewhat confusing, so I decided to edit in the hope of minimizing any roster errors.

While 'm sure everyone appreciates that you'll play with anyone, it's my understanding that it's to be a pre-made team competition. So far I've seen 1 sniper and 3 spotters - and it's kinda hard to have a spotter's competition.

true, i just know that however acurate my m14 is it's not a sniper rifle and i'm not a sniper.
